Preparations Are in Full Swing for Bootcamp No. 1

Preparations for DIGITALENT Academy Bootcamp No. 1 – Operate the LED Stage are entering their final stage. From 17–23 August 2026, participants from across Europe will meet in Prague for an intensive week of hands-on Virtual Production training led by an outstanding international team of industry experts. 

Beyond the technical programme, Bootcamp No. 1 has been designed as a complete immersion into the Czech film industry.

Participants will enjoy exclusive networking opportunities with Czech film directors, cinematographers and Virtual Production specialists, gaining first-hand insight into one of Europe’s fastest-growing production hubs.

A highlight of the programme will be a guided visit to Barrandov Studios—the largest film studio complex in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest and most important film studios in Europe. Participants will explore the facilities where numerous international productions have been filmed and gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of professional film production.

The cultural programme will also include a unique cinematic walking tour through the historic centre of Prague. Rather than a traditional sightseeing tour, participants will visit iconic filming locations featured in internationally acclaimed productions, including Mission: Impossible, Casino Royale, Spider-Man: Far From Home, The Bourne Identity, Hellboy, Amadeus, Jojo Rabbit, and many others that have transformed Prague into one of Europe’s most sought-after filming destinations.

The tour is planned to be accompanied by renowned Czech location manager Pavel Mrkous, whose remarkable career spans decades of major international productions shot in Prague. Having collaborated on numerous Hollywood blockbusters, he will share behind-the-scenes stories, explain how Prague is transformed into cities around the world, and offer participants a rare insider’s perspective on international filmmaking.

Throughout the week, participants will not only develop practical skills in Virtual Production, AI-assisted workflows and LED stage production, but will also build valuable international connections and gain a deeper understanding of how large-scale film productions are created.

DIGITALENT Academy at Mundos Digitales 2026

A Coruña, Spain | 9–11 July 2026

DIGITALENT Academy participated in the 24th International Conference on Animation, Visual Effects, Artificial Intelligence and New Media – Mundos Digitales 2026, held in A Coruña, Spain, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to animation, VFX, virtual production, AI and digital storytelling.

Representing DIGITALENT Academy were Pavel Smetana, Project Coordinator, and Lukáš Skalník, CEO of Fantasy Studios and coordinator of the DIGITALENT project.

During the conference they presented the session “Virtual Production and Hands-On Training in Real-Time Filmmaking”, introducing the DIGITALENT Academy training programme and its practical approach to Virtual Production, Unreal Engine and AI-assisted filmmaking.  A significant part of the presentation focused on one of today’s most discussed topics in the audiovisual industry: the relationship between Virtual Production and Generative AI. The session explored how AI is already transforming production workflows, how it can accelerate creative processes, and how it can be effectively integrated into feature films and television production alongside Virtual Production technologies.

 

The presentation attracted considerable interest from the audience, particularly students, emerging filmmakers and young professionals from across Spain. The lively discussion that followed confirmed the growing demand for practical education combining Virtual Production with AI-driven filmmaking. Beyond the presentation itself, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to meet studios, technology companies, trainers and creative professionals from across Europe. It also enabled the DIGITALENT team to establish new contacts and discuss future collaborations within the Creative Europe community.

 

During our stay in A Coruña, we  also visited Pedralonga Studios, where we met with representatives of the local audiovisual sector and discussed future cooperation in Virtual Production training, digital content creation and international educational initiatives.

 

We would like to thank the entire Mundos Digitales team for another outstanding edition of the conference and for creating an inspiring meeting place for the international digital content community.

AI Filmmaking & Virtual Production Workshop in Mallorca

DIGITALENT Academy is pleased to announce a special intensive workshop dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Production for filmmakers, audiovisual professionals, creators, and students.

The workshop will take place in Mallorca, Spain, from 15 to 23 July 2026 and will be led by internationally recognised AI and Virtual Production expert Odette Abadía Gómez.

Participants will explore the latest developments in AI-assisted filmmaking, generative storytelling, synthetic media, virtual production workflows, real-time content creation, and emerging creative technologies that are transforming the audiovisual sector worldwide.

The programme combines theoretical sessions, practical demonstrations, case studies, and collaborative creative exercises. Particular attention will be given to the integration of Artificial Intelligence into contemporary film production pipelines and to the opportunities and challenges presented by rapidly evolving creative technologies.
